Collective Worship

At Durrington All Saints we provide religious education and daily collective worship for all registered pupils and actively promote their spiritual, moral and cultural development.

Whilst our schedule is flexible and responsive to the current needs of the children, our current timetable is as follows:

Monday

Whole School worship led by the Head Teacher who introduces the key theme and focus for the week.

Tuesday

Reading worship - we share a modern, diverse picture book which teaches children more about the chosen termly value in an age appropriate and relatable manner

Wednesday

On Wednesdays, we explore current world events, sometimes using Picture News, and connect these stories to our school and British values, with a chance for reflection, which is recorded in our class worship book.

Thursday

Thursdays are church worship led by a member of the local clergy or sometimes a singing worship led by a member of the teaching team.

Friday

On Fridays, we have whole school worship led by the Head Teacher. This is a celebration worship where Value Champions are celebrated, as well as other celebrations which are important to children. Parents and carers are always welcome to stay and join us for our celebration worship at 8.45am, after drop off. Each term, one class takes the lead with celebration worship to share all that they have learnt and achieved in school.

Parents have the right to withdraw their child from the daily act of collective worship if they wish. Please contact us if you wish to make this request.
